alright
LAST ONE. sometimes i run into something and i cannot help but share it.
many or zero of you anywhere may or may not have heard of Evegny Kissin.
i used to be that of the latter group.
and thus i have been enlightened and overjoyed to experience a pianist of his caliber.
in watching this piece, one would notice the obvious difference in the speed and excitement in which it is played in comparison to the first 2 clips shown. it is obviously apparent that this man has remarkable skill.
but the reason i post this specific clip; footage of him actually playing as opposed to just an audio track is that in watching him play, the continuous motion of his hands, the delicate touch of the keys and the way in which he executes this piece perfectly with seemingly no effort is in short what i would label as absolutely beautiful. what is really interesting is that i think actually seeing him play this makes a definite difference in how we evaluate or attribute value to the piece. it is not enough just to hear it. literally the performance is part of the piece, not jut the resulting audio frequencies. i may have lost most of you. whatever. in the words of my colleague. JUST WATCH.

not that amazing
both the pianist and conductor are mediocre at best. but i recommend watching and listening to this performance.

Le Calendrier
Once again, Paris Vogue's calender is steaming. Unlike Terry Richardson who shot 12 different girls for last year's calender, Mert Alas and Marcus Poggott shoot only three leggy bombs for 2010: Natasha Poly, Raquel Zimmerman, and Iselin Steiro. The only thing keeping my boner down is my Taylor Lautner Rolling Stone cover. Christ

Another beautiful piece of work by the talented MR. ANDERSON
definitely a step up from the darjeeling ltd. Brilliant dialogue and characters reminiscent
of the royal tenenbaums. all i can say is that this is just an all out excellent film.
the direction, cinematography, animation, and SOUNDTRACK, in short, amazing.

I LOVE LOS ANGELES
so i have been MIA from this place. for several reasons. a few now of them being technical ones but none the less i will start making my presence here known more often.
one note i'd like to make is that things have obviously changed here since the beginning. and id like to restore this blog to its true nature of optimism and spreading the things we love. NOT the things we hate.
anyways. more soon. a lot more. of everything.
