the holiday season is at hand. im loving it. well so far. at least the amazing weather. i hear there will be santa anas and that blows. except it might not because ill be surfing most likely. and everyone knows there has been perfect waves on thanksgiving for 5 years in a row now. so well see how that goes. ill have pictures and just shit up from the upcoming week because it shall be a long one. here are the highlights of the last like what 2 days .

morning

i asked for a pen and paper because i told them that "i cant type". that makes me laugh a little on the inside. danny, sitting and so completely engaged to the screen of the laptop, wanted me to describe where we are. now i am writing because to not write is to not think.  it's around ten in the morning. i'm actually really high. we smoked danny's weed. it was so good. i'm not in the mood to describe where we are or the setting. all one needs to know is that it's one of the most beautiful mornings one's mind could possibly imagine. perhaps this morning is "heaven on earth". (whatever "heaven" is) - A. Dlr 

TGIF/ Thank God (the almighty) It's Friday

I have sleep problems. literally. for serious.( you like that one? ) i do. 1) i just dont sleep. or haven't in some time. 2) I snore, i breath extremely loud when i sleep. i have testimony from several people to confirm this is true. ( i think this is called sleep apnea )... this would result in me not sleeping soundly very well. 3) i am ALWAYS tired. always. i am never not tired. i could fall asleep at any time of day anywhere. i just dont because im so fucking busy even though i dont do shit. at least when i do sleep. i have vivid dreams every time, without fail. (its really nice actually) & at least im not psycho or anything like so many characters i read about. im just extremely fickle and indecisive. enough about that nonsense.

I just finished Choke by Chuck Palahniuk (how would you pronounce that), the same dude who wrote Fight Club which i had just finished and HIGHLY recommend. CHOKE is another great one too. Chuck's style is extremely dry and harsh, he leaves no stone unturned and is extremely blunt when it comes to everything. The same themes are seen throughout this novel as are seen in Fight Club (excuse my lack of grammar right there). The main character deals with so much shit, his dying insane mother, and god, and how he is just a stupid jerk, nothing special (similarities can be seen here in fight club). It pretty is the story of him, his mother, his friend Denny, their sexual addictions, some strippers, some rocks, a doctor from the future and Jesus. oh and a mommy and a stupid snotty little peace of shit kid.
I highly recommend this. It is really good and might seem like some lame old story about nonsense and some dude's lame ass problems but it gets really fucking deep and takes some insane twists and turns later on. read it.

This video is a little long (a whopping 18 minutes!), but I found it fascinating. Savage-Rumbaugh is a leading expert on bonobos, a Congolese ape that she has worked with for years. In this video, she demonstrates their understanding of the English language, plus their ability to use tools (they start fires with lighters and extinguish them with jugs of water), plus their capacity to, well, to play Pac Man.

its november 11, 2007. its sunday. its veterans day. its a shame ill never be one. but also... i wud never want to. it goes both ways. im sure most people can understand that. it was an interesting weekend. i had more to say on it. but its left me now.

No Country For Old Men....
The race for this year's Oscar officially starts with this Coen brothers adaptation of punctuation-hating novelist Cormac McCarthy's (All the Pretty Horses) True Romance-ish tale of an average Llewelyn (Josh Brolin) who randomly happens upon a gristly scene that appears to be a major drug deal gone wrong in a dusty, barren area of 1980 Texas. Walking away almost completely unphased with a suitcase full of cash, Llewelyn realizes (after going back to gank the heroin), he's probably going to be pursued by both sides of the failed exchange. What he doesn't expect is that the pursuit might be led by the devil in a Dutch-Boy haircut (a brilliantly diabolical Javier Bardem) while the self-doubting local sheriff (Tommy Lee Jones) really feels as if me might actually be getting too old for this shit. The cat-and-mouse game which follows is absolutely brilliant, peppered with equal doses of jet black humor and gruesome, unapologetic Cronenberg-style violence. It's the Coen's masterpiece, and it has cutie Kelly Macdonald ditching her Scottish brogue for a West Texas lilt that made me weak in the knees. Okay, maybe it was the blood.




ok something not so intensely gnarly... cus really that was one of the gnarliest movies iv seen in a long time.

Here are some highlights from cabo trip last weekend. although we were only there for really only one full day it feels like we were out there for a week. Day of the Dead was definitely a highlight. unfortunately i ran out of film so only bout half the trip is documented.... oh and


i am reading this... sooo much better than the movie. really gets you into it. me and tommy had our initial fight last night . it was great .
